The ‘Joy of giving' program was initiated by the  Community Outreach Club  of Greenfield International School,Dharapuram with a purpose of  bringing a ray of light, hope, and happiness into the lives of the less fortunate, this Deepavali. A campaign was run in the school to collect rice, lentils, sugar/jaggery, clothes and stationery from the generous parents of the school. Also there was a Diwali sale organized by the children of grades 4 to 8 in which all children participated by painting the lamps beautifully and selling it to all the teachers and students of the school. The  proceeds of the sale were kept aside to buy sweets and crackers for the children of the orphanages we were to visit.

A few members of the Community Outreach Club visited the CSI Girls and boys hostel and the Raghavendra old age home at Dharapuram along with their teachers and gifted the inmates all that had been collected for them. The children at the orphanage were thrilled with the sweets and the crackers given to them.Their gratitude knew no bounds at this beautiful gesture of the students of Greenfield International School ;their eyes said it all.The old ladies at the Old Age Home were equally delighted to have the young girls and boys visit them. They accepted the sweets given to them with a big sweet smile and blessed the children with their whole heart.

This visit had proved to be an eye opener for the students since they were made to realize what a great joy it brings to give to others.
