The children of Grades 4 and 5 went on a field trip to the Government Museum in Coimbatore on
July 26,2023.
Since the children are covering topics such as Early Man and the River Valley Civilizations, we thought it best to take them to the museum where they could see the artifacts of the ancient times preserved for future generations to see.
The children had a fascinating time absorbing all that was on display from the various coins discovered during excavations to artifacts such as old weaponry, idols, utensils and jewelry. There was even a dinosaur on display.
The children were able to get a clear idea of what artifacts are , the kind of work archaeologists do and the important contributions of theirs to rebuilding and preservation of history. They understood in their own small way how the world had changed over time and why.
